A few weeks ago, Professor Scott Ickes asked me to track down available resources for Brazilian studies. It’s not as easy as it sounds, but I am making some head-way. The most difficult part has been in finding primary-source microfilm. I located a number of key collections only to find that they were no longer available for purchase. So, for the time being, I’ve been focusing on monographs. If anyone has any good leads for microfilm collections focusing on Brazil, please contact me at ttaylor@lib.usf.edu. Stay tuned for updates!

Now, on to something relatively easy in comparison– recently ordered books:

  • Infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean: Recent Developments and Key Challenges (Fay)
  • People and Issues in Latin American History: The Colonial Experience: Sources and Interpretations (Hanke)
  • Social and Linguistic Heritage of Native Peoples in the Americas: The Struggle to Maintain Cultural Particularity (Van Broekhoven)
  • Unwanted and Not Included: The Saga of Mexican People in the United States (Camacho)
